THE RECORDS SPEAK!

*abstracted from Agenda of Lindstrom City Council Meeting, Thursday, May 18th 2006:

CONSENT AGENDA:

PUBLIC HEARINGS/PRESENTATIONS:
*1. East Central Regional Development Commission - Jeremy Kalin

"Pearson stated after further review of the hand-out from Mr. Kalin, she did not believe this item should be addressed before City Council this evening. Pearson reminded that Kalin was previously directed by Council to attend and address the Park Board. Pearson stated this item does not appear to require City Council action or requests."

"Pearson further reviewed an e-mail copy of (caps and italics added for emphasis) A LETTER RECEIVED FROM BOB VOSS, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE EAST CENTRAL REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION. MR. VOSS'S RESPONSE/REPLY WAS THAT MR. KALIN WAS A REPRESENTATIVE to THEIR BOARD, BUT NOT REPRESENTATIVE of THE COMMISSION . . . . . ." " . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . "

"Pearson added she "BELIEVED THIS AGENDA ITEM WAS AN ATTEMPT TO PROMOTE A POLITICAL PLATFORM. " . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . "

"Rew stated Kalin should have (10) minutes to speak with Council. He added if the information turns political, he suggested that Kalin be asked to leave."

"Mayor Lindgren called for a second on the motion. There being none, the motion died."

"Pearson stated KALIN HAD DISCREDITED HIMSELF, POSING AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF ECRDC WHEN HE WAS NOT."

NOW FROM JEREMY KALIN'S WEBSITE CURRENT TO THE PRESENT DATE (July 2, 2008) is this paragraph touting his credentials and abilities: "I work as a designer and draftsman for Natural Spaces Domes, (a company owned and operated by the family of the late DFL State Senator Johnson who, at a young age, died in office and whose legislative seat is now occupied by Senator Rick Olseen).

Kalin continues: "I ALSO REPRESENT OUR COUNTY ON THE REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, WHERE WE WORK WITH ALL SIDES, REGARDLESS OF PARTY, AND CRAFT INNOVATIVE, STRATEGIC SOLUTIONS TO THE CHALLENGES WE ALL FACE . . . . . . . ."
