It is a reasonable expectation to ask the question: "What has been the return on our investment?" with Olseen as the Senator in District 17 and with Kalin in 17B as the State Representative.
What have we "invested?" We have paid them their hefty salaries and they have latched onto overly generous per diems and for that what have we got in return?
The Highway 95 North Branch bridge over freeway 35 still sits untouched; the schools in the area are clamoring for funding to avoid program cuts, increased class sizes along with layoffs of staff; the roads are falling apart fast while the taxes we pay are spiralling up propelled like rockets. Our legislators spend their time playing the blame game - covering their own ineffectiveness, incompetence and inaction by criticizing the Governor.

Sen. Olseen received $24,756.12 in per-diem and other reimbursements last year - on top of his $31,140 salary - for total cash payments to him, from taxpayers, of $55,896 (NOT including the generous benefits package).
That's $1,075 per week for a part time job!
I think the ROI on Sen. Olseen is pretty low.
