More on the Fairness Doctrine
I posted an article earlier here in which Senator Dianne Feinstein pushed for counter balancing conservative talk radio by enacting the Fairness Doctrine.
Now Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) has stated he would like to see the Fairness Doctrine reinstated. View the article here.
Senator John "Flip Flop" Kerry (D-MA) also is calling for a renewal of the Fairness Doctrine. Hear his comment here. He won't flip-flop on this one.
These senators want to make it so difficult for conservative talk radio by the added liberal "balance" that it will not be economically feasible to continue conservative broadcasts. These politicians are not interested in the First Amendment right of free speech. They see conservative talk radio as a threat to the liberal bias spewed by most TV networks, almost all newspapers and National Public Radio. Their free market attempt to counter conservative talk radio ended in the bankruptcy of Air America. Liberals do not believe in the free market and will regulate it by using excuses such as "balanced view points."
